Description: The underlying bill, the Separation of Powers Restoration Act, removes the legal deference shown by the courts to actions taken by federal agencies. The Johnson (D-GA) amendment exempts from the bill actions taken by the Environmental Protection Agency pertaining to regulation of lead and copper in drinking water. ACU supports restoring the balance of power between the Executive and Legislative branches.
