Description: Schweiker (R-PA) motion that the Senate recede to the House position on Medicaid-funded abortions, which allowed payment for abortions only if the life of the mother was endangered if the fetus were carried to term. The Senate language also allows funding in cases of rape or incest or when two doctors determine that continued pregnancy would result in physical damage to the mother.
