Description: Burdick (D-ND) motion to table, and thus kill, the Scott (R-VA) amendment to provide that no federal court shall have jurisdiction to hear or decide cases or controversies involving public schools, thus giving jurisdiction to state courts. This amendment would have been a major step in removing from federal courts the power to bus school children for purposes of racial integration.
