Vote Data for HR5900 (94th Congress)

Date: November 18, 1975

Subject: Common Situs Picketing

Description: Kennedy (D-MA) motion to invoke cloture (cut off debate) on the bill to amend the National Labor Relations Act to allow labor unions in the construction trades to strike and picket contractors and subcontractors engaged on the same construction job at a common site. Since most construction disputes concern the hiring of non-union employees, it would limit construction companies to hiring only union members.
