Subject: Cut Additional Funding to Ukraine
Description: Greene (R-GA) amendment to the Department of State, Foreign Operations and Related Programs Appropriations Act for FY 2024 prohibiting the federal government from using funds appropriated in the act to send aid to Ukraine. CPAC recognizes that American taxpayers have already spent over $75 billion dollars in Ukraine, a third of which has gone toward non-military expenditures. CPAC believes that President Trump's tactic of conditioning increases in funding for the U.S.' European allies on the choice of other countries to contribute their fair share to the cause at hand is an acceptable strategy moving forward, and supports this amendment as a means of pushing NATO members to contribute more to Ukraine's cause. CPAC believes that funding for the war in Ukraine should be more properly scrutinized outside of massive omnibus bills and supported this amendment as a means of encouraging this outcome.
