Subject: Ensuring Enforcement of Immigration Laws at the Southern Border
Description: Moran (R-KS) amendment to the congressional budget ensures enforcement of existing immigration laws during the humanitarian crisis at the southern border. The amendment also requires increased resources for smart and effective border security, to improve asylum processing and to reduce immigration court backlogs. ACU recognizes that at the time of this vote over 200,000 illegal border crossings were attempted in the previous month due to the Biden administration's roll back of immigration laws and failed border policies. ACU supports efforts to strengthen national security and immigration enforcement, especially at a time when tens of thousands of migrants are camped out at the southern border.
