Description: The so-called U.S. Innovation and Competition Act sponsored by Senators Schumer (D-NY) and Young (R-IN), is nearly 2,400 pages in length and expected to cost taxpayers over $250 billion. The bill authorizes funding for the National Science Foundation and countless special interest initiatives and pet projects of lawmakers. The bill also contains a myriad of protectionist procurement mandates and anti-competitive regulations. ACU opposes wasteful spending and unnecessary regulations that drive up taxpayer and consumer costs.
