Subject: Fueling Run-Away Spending by Doubling the Budget of the National Science Foundation
Description: The National Science Foundation for the Future Act, sponsored by Rep. Johnson (D-TX), further fuels run-away government spending by more than doubling the budget of the National Science Foundation over the next five years from $8.5 billion to $18.3 billion. Much of the new funding would go towards unnecessary initiatives best performed by the private sector, as well as leftist initiatives such as research in "climate change and environmental sustainability" and "social and economic inequality". ACU supports cutting and eliminating all unnecessary government initiatives, especially at a time when the national debt is soaring past $30 trillion.
