Description: This vote confirms the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh as Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. The nomination is in response to the retirement of Justice Anthony Kennedy who was nominated by President Ronald Reagan and served 30 years on the court. ACU supported the nomination of Kavanaugh, an ardent defender of the Constitution and equal rights under the law with an outstanding track record as a United States Circuit Judge for the District of Columbia. (Though not voting, Senator Murkowski (R-AK) was recorded as opposing and Senator Daines (R-MT) was recorded as supporting, based upon the declared positions of both members.)
