Subject: Dodd-Frank Banking Regulation Repeal
Description: This bill repeals much of the Dodd-Frank banking regulation act, removing draconian regulations on community banks, eliminating "too big to fail" provisions on large banks, ending government guarantees to bail out banks' bad debt and simplifying regulations for small businesses. The bill also replaces the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) with the Consumer Law Enforcement Agency with a director who serves at the pleasure of the President and is subject to the congressional appropriation process. ACU supports the reform of these laws and the rogue CFPB that have combined to stifle small business loans and impose regulations at the whim of the CFPB director.
Result: Bill Passed, 233-186
