[1] A power-sharing agreement was negotiated, with Democrats choosing Peter Courtney to be the president, Republicans choosing Lenn Hannon as president pro tempore, and all committees and chairmanships split evenly between the parties.

[3] After 11 days of tied votes over organization of the chamber, the two parties elected Democrat Boyd Overhulse as President and organized the chamber on a bipartisan basis.
